Having started her career in large-scale dance production with Rambert and English National Ballet, Claire started and led Mackerel Sky Events, developing and delivering a wide variety of events across cultural, corporate, and community projects. After 11 years, Claire took up the role of head of enterprises and events at English National Ballet when it moved to new facilities in London City Island. Having established this new business unit successfully, she moved into academia and now leads the BA(Hons) Events Management programme at the University of Northampton. Claire continues to develop and deliver event projects and consultancy as well as research activity and she has recently become involved with the Power of Events Research Group. She is studying for her PhD, focusing on decision-making within event management, and has recently published two chapters in Events MisManagement, considering case studies of failure in event projects.
