Ben is a founder and partner of Proud Events. Proud Events produces and manages events across the world. Throughout a career as a CEO and director across the public sector, Whur has also spent more than 40 years volunteering in, including eight years as event director, for Pride in London.

Proud Events specialises in outdoor festivals and events. Whur led the Afro Nation team as festival director on inaugural events in Portugal and Ghana and lockdown began during the build of Afro Nation in Puerto Rico. Proud Events partners the Lightopia illuminations festivals across the UK and recently opened the Dino Kingdom. The company is also excited to be producing and managing The Cambridge Club and Strawberries and Creem as they move to a new venue and become weekend camping festivals.
